Position: BC/BE, Orthopaedic surgeon to join the Division of Adult Reconstruction

 

The Duke University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks a BC/BE, Orthopaedic surgeon to join the Division of Adult Reconstruction. Ideal candidates will be fellowship trained in Adult Reconstruction (primary/revision hip and knee arthroplasty), and also have a strong interest in research and teaching. The clinical practice will be in Wake County, with surgical cases primarily performed at Duke Raleigh Hospital. The hired surgeon will also have access to the new surgical platform where arthroplasty cases will be performed in the outpatient setting. Call coverage would be in conjunction with Duke Orthopaedic physicians in Raleigh, currently a practice of nine orthopaedic surgeons and six APPs that bring excellence to the greater Raleigh area with a wide array of orthopaedic services and the highest quality of care for patients of all ages.

In addition to Duke Raleigh Hospital, practice members will also have privileges at Duke Regional Hospital. Candidates with research aspirations can receive a university appointment and support across the broad range of research themes in the department. Specific interest in clinical outcomes research in hip and knee arthroplasty is a plus. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and training.

Position: ABOS certified (or eligible) orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in hand and upper extremity.

 

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Duke University School of Medicine seeks an ABOS certified (or eligible) orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in hand and upper extremity to join the Department at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Academic rank and salary will commensurate with experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in the areas of clinical care and surgery, teaching, scholarly activity, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic needs of the department. It is expected that the hired individual contribute to clinical and/or basic science research within the hand and upper extremity division. The ideal candidate will have a record of academic productivity and scholarly work; have demonstrated competency in managing complex cases, and an interest in teaching residents and fellows. Clinical focus and research experience in Nerve Regeneration and/or Pediatrics and Brachial Plexus is desired, but not required. This position will be an integral part of the hand and upper extremity division in the Duke Department of Orthopedic Surgery.

The majority of the practice associated with this position will take place in Durham, with potential to expand the practice into Wake County.
