Anterior Hip Foundation Funded Educational Opportunities for JRGOS Members

Joel Matta, MD is the Founder and Board Member of the Anterior Hip Foundation. Dr. Matta is also a Gladden Board Member. There are several educational opportunities in addition to the annual educational meeting available through the Anterior Hip Foundation (AHF) to JRGOS members.

The Anterior Hip Foundation supports education and innovation for the benefit of excellence in hip replacement surgery.

AHF Traveling Fellowship (Early-Career Orthopaedic Surgeons)

Orthopaedic surgeons who have completed training and are early in their careers are encouraged to apply for the fully funded AHF Traveling Fellowship.

  • Fellows will travel to visit leading U.S. anterior approach hip surgeons
  • Includes attendance at the 2026 AHF Annual Meeting in Nashville
  • Fellowship support is contingent upon qualified applicants

Ronald Burkle AHF Fellowship (International Surgeons)

Though less applicable to JRGOS members, The Anterior Hip Foundation also offers 20 funded Ronald Burkle Fellowship positions for orthopaedic surgeons from low and middleincome countries to attend the AHF Annual Meeting. Past fellows have represented regions including Southeast Asia, India, Africa, Eastern Europe, South America, and Central America.
