Announcing JRGOS 2025/2026 Orthopaedic Surgeon Attending Research Grant Recipients

The J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society recognizes the recipients of the 2025/2026 JRGOS Attending Research Grants, supporting innovative research that advances excellence, education, and equity in orthopaedic surgery.

Tessa Balach, MD, Professor and Vice Chair of Education, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine Associate Chief Medical Officer for the Clinical Learning Environment, UChicago Medicine, has been awarded a JRGOS Johnson & Johnson AttendingnResearch grant for her project,OrthoACCESS 3.0: Expanding Access & Equity in Orthopaedic Education for Pre-Clinical Students.

Jaysson Brooks, MD, JRGOS Board Member and Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon and Associate Professor, Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery UT-Southwestern, Scottish Rite for Children has been awarded a JRGOS Zimmer Attending Research grant for his project, Development of a Cloud-Based Remote Monitoring System for Halo Gravity Traction.

Selina Poon, MD, MPH, JRGOS Board Member and Pediatric Orthopaedic surgeon at Shriners Children’s Southern California, has been awarded a JRGOS Zimmer Attending Research grant for her project, AI-Enabled SMART-on-FHIR System for Automated Radiographic Measurement and Clinical Workflow Integration in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS).
