Dr. Ramon Jiménez has dedicated his career to advancing orthopaedic surgery, championing diversity, and fostering collaboration across the field. In recognition of his remarkable contributions, he received the JRGOS Excellence in Collaboration Award at the JRGOS Annual Awards Luncheon on March 13, 2025.

As a “many-decade” member of the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society (JRGOS) and a valued Senior Advisory Board Member, Dr. Jiménez has been instrumental in advancing the Society’s mission to cultivate leadership, foster collaboration, and reduce healthcare disparities. His leadership has set a powerful precedent for inclusion and cross-cultural partnership throughout orthopaedics and the Academy.

Dr. Jiménez founded the American Association of Latino Orthopaedic Surgeons (AALOS) in 2007, where he served as President until 2018 and continues as Executive Director Emeritus. His influence extends to the Movement is Life initiative as a founding member, where he has served on the Executive Steering Committee since 2009 and Treasurer of its 501(c)(3) Foundation Board since 2022.

Throughout his career, Dr. Jiménez has exemplified the values of service, mentorship, and collaboration. His contributions have paved the way for greater equity in musculoskeletal care, particularly for women, Hispanic/Latino, and African-American communities. The Gladden Society proudly honors his profound impact, and the field of orthopaedic surgery is richer for his enduring commitment.
