2026 JRGOS Presidents Health Equity Award

The J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society (JRGOS) proudly announces Selina Poon, MD, MPH as the recipient of the 2026 JRGOS President’s Health Equity Award.

This award honors individuals who embody the leadership, service, and vision exemplified by past, present, and future JRGOS Presidents. Recipients are recognized for advancing equity in orthopaedic care and addressing disparities in health care through leadership, research, innovation, and service.

Selina Poon, MD, MPH the 2026 JRGOS Presidents Health Equity Award Recipient

Dr. Poon is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Shriners Children’s Southern California. Dr. Poon’s career reflects exceptional leadership in orthopaedic surgery and a deep commitment to culturally responsive care, inclusion, education, clinical and academic excellence, and innovation in addressing health care disparities through research, practice, service, and humanitarian contributions.

Dr. Poon’s clinical interests include early-onset scoliosis, spinal deformity, limb deformity, and clubfoot. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Poon serves on the boards of multiple national orthopaedic societies, including the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America.
