JRGOS Committee Spotlight

The J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society (JRGOS) is a multiracial, multicultural, and inclusive membership organization that promotes and supports underrepresented minorities in Orthopaedic Surgery, which includes African Americans, Blacks, Hispanics, Latinos, and Women.

The Mission of the Gladden Society is to increase diversity in the orthopaedic surgery profession and promote the highest quality musculoskeletal care to achieve health equity for All by advancing inclusion. JRGOS Committees accomplish this mission.

JRGOS Committees & Liaisons

Bylaws Committee: Responsible for organizational compliance.

DEI & Health Equity Committee: Focus on eliminating Healthcare Disparities.

Education Committee: Education programming for all Member levels.

Finance Committee: Managing the financial health of the organization.

Innovation and Tech Committee: Integrates research, practice, technology, and innovation.

Membership Committee: Provides value through networking, professional development, and member benefits.

Mentorship Committee: Promotes career development, leadership skills, and personal growth through mentorship.

Resident Support & Success Committee: Providesmentorship, educational enrichment, and outreach initiativesspecifically focused on resident education.

Resident and Medical Student Committee: Supports the medical student and orthopaedic resident experience through mentorship, fostering community, educational enrichment, and outreach initiatives.

Scientific Committee: Coordinates research initiatives and promotes scholarly publications.

Board of Specialty Societies (BOS) Liaison: These individuals serve as JRGOS representatives on the BOS.

Diversity Advisory Board (DAB) Liaison: These individual represents JRGOS on the AAOS DAB.

AAOS PAC Advisors Circle Liaison: These individuals serve as the liaison to the AAOS Orthopaedic PAC.

Historian: Preserves and documents the history of JRGOS.

In 2025 the JRGOS Board will appoint JRGOS Committee Members, Chairs and Liaisons.
