Innovations Committee

From Clinical Excellence to Economic Leadership

The J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society Innovations Committee expands member engagement in financial markets, MedTech, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and ownership. Guided by three priorities—Educate, Connect, and Empower—the Committee provides practical knowledge of market fundamentals, develops relationships with credible leaders across capital and innovation, and increases visibility into opportunities that have historically been difficult to access. This work advances the JRGOS mission by strengthening the participation of Black orthopaedic surgeons and the broader Gladden community in the development, financing, governance, and ownership of healthcare innovation.

To date, the Committee has delivered programming on financial literacy, equity ownership, diversified income, venture capital, physician entrepreneurship, and the scale of the musculoskeletal market. It has convened physician founders, investors, and industry leaders to translate these subjects into practical guidance for members. The next phase includes a planned, invitation-only Innovation & Capital Dinner on Thursday, March 4, 2027, during the JRGOS Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. Envisioned as the kickoff to an ongoing economic-empowerment platform, the initiative will explore investor and founder briefings, physician leadership and advisory pathways, entrepreneurial education, and curated exposure to MedTech and private-market opportunities.
