Correct Answer: Lateral ulnar collateral ligament

The patient is describing pain and instability while pushing out of the sitting position after a lateral approach to the elbow. The lateral ulnar collateral ligament was damaged at its origin on the lateral epicondyle resulting in posterolateral rotatory instability. The anterior and posterior capsule is excised at the time of capsular release and would not provide rotatory stability. The approach was performed on the lateral elbow and unlikely to damage the ulnar collateral ligament on the medial side.
