ReginaldL.Tall, MD, is a testament to the profound mentorship of JRGOS Founding Member, Timothy L. Stephens, Jr., MD.

Guided by Dr. Stephens during his orthopaedic residency in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr.Tallnot only refined his surgical skills but also embraced a lifelong commitment to excellence in orthopaedics and the power of mentorship.

Dr.Tallearned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Saint Luke’s Hospital (CWRU), where Dr. Stephens served as his Senior Faculty Attending. Dr. Tall went on to complete a spine fellowship at the Minnesota Spine Center and later became Florida’s first African-American orthopaedic spine surgeon.

Today, Dr.Tallserves on the faculty at the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, continuing to break barriers while delivering patient-centered care—values deeply rooted in the mentorship he received from Dr. Stephens. His dedication to the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society reflects the lesson that mentorship is not only a responsibility but creates a legacy.

Through his active involvement, Dr.Tallmentors emerging surgeons, advancing the Society’s mission to cultivate leadership, foster excellence, and expand opportunities in orthopaedic education and practice. Dr. Tall proudly honors the legacy of his mentor, Dr. Timothy L. Stephens, Jr., MD, by championing the same values that shaped his own career.
